Post-it Note Murals by Ms. Holliday's Mixed Media class
Groups of students in Ms. Holliday's Mixed Media class create murals using Post-it Notes. They had to first select a pop culture icon. The first group selected the "Gamer Emoji", the second the Superman Logo. After measuring, planning, and creating the mural, each group had to select the location for exhibit.

Silhouette Visual Journals
Students in Photography classes at PHS have been shooting silhouette photos in class. They have also created designs in their Visual Journals based on a silhouette to include layering over text, transparency, and repetition through embellishment. Congrats to PHS Art Students! Scholastics Art Competition 2014-15
Congratulations to the 2015 Scholastic Art Award winners at PHS! Grace Weir (IB Art) received 2 Gold Key Awards in Fashion. Hannah Rust (Photography 2) and Olivia Kwiecinski (IB Art) won Silver Key Awards in Photography, and Honorable Mention was awarded to Colette Beard (IB Art) for Mixed Media; Frederik Lilleor (IB Art and Photography 2), Kyrah Dillingham (Photography 2), and Brandon Mullins (Photography 2) for Photography; and Kiana Foster (IB Art) for Painting. Congrats Art students!! The Exhibit opens Jan. 23 at 6pm at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and will run through Feb. 6. The Awards Ceremony is Jan. 30 at the Northern KY Convention Center.

Scholastics Results for 2013-14
Princeton High School Art Department would like to announce the students who have had work recognized in the Regional Scholastics Art Competition. This is one of the most widely recognized art competitions for middle and high school students in the US. The competition begins at the regional level and judges choose works or portfolios for three different awards: Honorable Mention, Silver Key, and Gold Key. These works will be displayed at a regional exhibition at River Center in Covington. All Gold Key winners go on to compete at the National level during which Gold and Silver Keys are awarded in New York City.
Award recipients from Lindsay Holliday's, Emily Lie's, and Melissa Sand's classes include:
Gold Key Award: Elizabeth Britton; Silver Key Awards: Olivia Kwiencinski, Skyler Wilson, Colette Beard, Kaetlyn Culter, Tim Fortner, and Maddie Lohmeier; Honorable Mentions: Julia Denny, Colette Beard, William Cheney, Elizabeth Britton, Megan McGuire, Breaunna Robinson, Brooke Snelling, and two for Jordan Richardson.

people in the US resolve to make a change or reach a goal and as we know too
well the resolutions are usually broken in a matter of three weeks.
Why not simplify this idea
by choosing one word to guide you in 2014?
One word: we can remember it
and focus on it and do it. Then you have meaning and mission with that word
that gives you passion and purpose to live throughout the year.
