The Memory Project at PHS
The IB Visual Arts students (Colette Beard, Odessa Boettger, Emilija Bostogaite, Tim Fortner, Michelle Gutierrez, Tanner Kissel, Maddie Lohmeier, and Cara Mosso) at PHSl are participating in The Memory Project as a project in the Humanity Unit of the curriculum. The Memory Project is a nonprofit organization through which art students in the U.S. create portraits for children and teens around the world who are living in orphanages or similar homes. Given that youth in such situations usually have few personal keepsakes, the purpose of the portraits is to provide them with meaningful mementos of their youth. The project also allows art students to practice kindness and service to others while enhancing their portraiture skills. Our students are creating portraits for children in Nepal. The cost for each portrait is a $15 donation. If you are interested in sponsoring a PHS student in this project, please contact Lindsay Holliday at lholliday@princetonschools.net or 513-864-1523. Contributions are tax-deductible, and we will gladly share the photos we taken of the children receiving the portraits in Nepal. For more information on the project go to http://www.memoryproject.org
