A LOT of progress was made this weekend! Now we are starting to bubble wrap the first shoe so that we can cover it with red sequined fabric!

We made a lot of progress on the structure thanks to David Nell and Mr. and Mrs. Fortner!

GIANT Ruby Slippers Project- Week 2

The next Ruby Slippers task was to cut out the soles of the GIANT shoes!

We also cut out and painted parts of the house and grass for the backdrop.

GIANT Ruby Slipper Project- Week 2

The IB Visual Arts class began building the Ruby Slippers by first creating a stencil for the sole of the shoe. 

Architectural Abstractions- Photo 1

Students in Photo 1 at PHS were recently presented with the challenge of shooting digital photos to create abstract designs based on architectural structures. They emphasized simple elements such as line, shape, color, and contrast to create some bold designs. ARC Reception featuring PHS Artwork!

ARC Exhibition and Reception will feature student work from the 

PHS AP Studio Art class. 

Artworks by Colette Beard, Maribel Cruz, Haley Grueninger, Diana Mikitin, Yahel Mitchell-Israel, Desirae Tubbs, and Chia Yang will be on display.

IB Visual Art students are creating GIANT Ruby Slippers

The IB Art Clas at PHS is going to create GIANT RUBY SLIPPERS

like these for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Fundraising Gala.
The Gala is May 11, 2013 at the Duke Energy Center in Cincinnati.

Here we are in the planning stages.
Students are sharing the ideas for plans with volunteer artists form the community:
David Nell and Jody Showronek.
