Carrie Brausch recognized for her Ceramics Work!

Senior Carolyn Brausch was recently named the winner of a high school ceramic art competition at FUNKē Fired Arts!  This is FUNKē’s first year holding the competition.  Current juniors and seniors from the greater Cincinnati area were invited to submit up to three ceramic pieces along with an artist statement and letter of recommendation. The finalists selected will each have one artwork on display for a month-long art exhibit at FUNKē Fired Arts. Not only was Carolyn’s hand sculpture (pictured below) selected as a finalist, but it was also the overall winner!  She essentially wins a scholarship that will allow her to take classes at FUNKē Fired Arts this summer free of charge, and will also serve as an intern where she will learn about the ins and outs of the studio and deepen her understanding of the ceramics world. The opening reception will take place on May 31st from 6:00-8:00pm at FUNKē Fired Arts (3130 Wasson Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45209).

Carolyn’s three pieces submitted include a hand sculpture (the winner!), a coil pot, and a teapot.

Congratulations to Carolyn, and thank you for representing Princeton well!
